New Areas Available for Cotton Promotion

In compliance with Decree No. 37/2015 of December 31 and as part of the strategy to develop the cotton value chain, IAOM, IP recently updated the development areas that are free and have high potential for cotton production under the development regime. This update resulted in 11 new concessions located in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Zambézia, Sofala, Inhambane and Gaza, which will be the subject of a public tender launched on July 15, 2022 and closed on August 4.
With this tender, the IAOM, IP, aims to identify economic agents with proven capacity and technical experience in agricultural production, to promote cotton growing in the cotton-growing areas located in the provinces mentioned.
In fact, all eligible companies are invited to apply for the development of the cotton promotion activity. Eligible applicants are individuals, companies, organizations (associations and/or cooperatives) that can demonstrate their legal and technical qualifications and tax compliance by submitting the relevant supporting documentation.
