Soybean production
In Mozambique, soya, Glycine max, L., is produced by family and commercial producers mainly in the provinces of Manica, Tete, Zambézia and Niassa. Data from the latest Agrarian Survey (2020) indicates that soybean production in the country in the 2019/20 crop year was around 51,700 tons in an area of around 65,800 hectares, data that points to the involvement of around 130,000 producers. For the 2020/21 crop year, soybean production was around 69,800 tons.
